The time of lone fighters is over. Today, goals are not achieved individually anymore, but within teams. However, team work only makes sense if the team is better than the sum of its parts.

Many teams accomplish less than what each team member would do if they worked individually. In contrast, there are teams that achieve much more than its individual members. Therefore, a central challenge for any leader is to determine potential synergy effects.

Of course, each team member's collaboration is crucial for effective team work. But thought-out software can contribute to your team's success as well, probably more than you'd suppose.

 

Team work can be quite different

  •  Teams that work strongly project-oriented, such as IT departments, can work on common project files. These can be checked in and out within the main outline.
  •  There are teams where the members work very independently from each other. Here, team members often just want to stay up to date about what the others consider their most important objectives and on which tasks they are working. For this purpose, meineZIELE provides a simple team reporting system.
  •  If the team members work closely with each other, they can reproduce their team in meineZIELE and delegate, report and exchange tasks including all necessary information and files.
  •  There are teams where upcoming tasks have to be distributed by one of the team members. Think about a secretary who answers the telephone and has to distribute the emerging tasks. Then, they can transfer a task to a team member rather than delegating it.
  •  We have also thought about the special cases. What, if several people have to share one computer, what could easily happen e.g. within the sales team of a pharmacy? Here, each team member can still work on her own file and switch to another user in meineZIELE in no time.
  • In some cases somebody "publishes" a problem/task within the team for some kind of collaboration and team members then add subtasks or documents.
